Abstract

Introduction: Linear inflammatory verrucous epidermal nevus is characterized by the appearance of erythematous, scaly, and pruritic lesions with a psoriasiform appearance.

Objective: To present an uncommon clinical variant of epidermal nevus.

Case Report: An 11-year-old patient was diagnosed with a giant linear inflammatory verrucous epidermal nevus located in an unusual area, based on morphological and histopathological findings that revealed a psoriasiform histological pattern. The patient received topical treatment, resulting in a refractory course followed by notable improvement—an outcome frequently observed in newborns, but not in adolescents and adults.

Conclusions: Clinical and histopathological correlation is fundamental for the accurate diagnosis of this disease, as it may be confused with other similar pathologies.
